Clear Creek White Water Park

We really enjoyed walking along the creek in Downtown Golden.
There are a lot of interesting things to see and do there.

Like, look for fish.
Or you can check out the Clear Creek Whitewater park.

People come from all over to enjoy kayaking here.

This guy likes kayaking so much he practically lives here.

Kayak, who needs a kayak?
Just for the record my son was enjoying this.

Across from the Whitewater park there is a baseball field.
My son LOVES baseball and was happy to check out this kids batting stance.

and offer him a few pointers.

Along the river we ran across lots of locals.
Who were full of good suggestions.

Like these kids who convinced us that you CAN sled in the middle of June!

This kid pointed out some good fishing holes and also suggested using worms for bait!

This Lady was reading aloud so we stopped and listened to "The Secret Garden".

If you keep your eyes open you'll most likely see some wild animals.

Sawyer got to feed a bear!

Ride a deer,

He even got to ride the biggest butterfly I have ever seen.

Although the wildlife seems really laid back here.
This guy reminded us that you can never be to careful when dealing with wild animals.
Which is why he carries a musket!

Later we came to the fishing holes that the kid had suggested.
Oh MAN!! I had no idea the fish got so big in Colorado! It must be the worms.

I am a strong believer in catch and release so it just didn't make sense keep one of these big boys!

Besides, LOOK at that face.

Sweet little fish.

Later on the way to dinner we caught a concert by the creek!

apparently they play here often.:)
If you make it to Golden I would highly recommend taking a stroll by the river.
You never know what you might find on the path!
