Happy Thursday!

I got the flu last week, I didn't even get the flu shot, go figure.

Anyway, I bought some flowers to make myself feel better, and it worked. Not only did I feel better, they made me happy!


Of course, I picked the orange flowers. They were so pretty I thought why not share?

The Perfect Pumpkin

A few weeks ago we went to Rosa's Berry Farm to pick out a pumpkin for Halloween. I know Halloween is over, but it was such a memorable experience I thought, why not share.

At first I thought a pumpkin,


is a pumpkin



is a pumpkin. Right?



WRONG!
Rosa's Berry Farm had just about every pumpkin that exists.

Green ones,


white ones,



and of course, orange ones.


Orange ones.


and MORE orange ones.


Orange is the color of happiness! So of course we were leaning towards the orange.

Just when we thought we had seen them all, we went to the pumpkin patch,


and found MORE! Imagine picking one.



I knew we would find it eventually, the perfect pumpkin.



The pumpkin that would brightly shine among all the rest.


We explored our options carefully.


Leaving no pumpkin unturned!



Then we found it! The Perfect Pumpkin!
The choice was clear, this was THE pumpkin.

It was more red-orange than orange orange, and kind of shaped like a heart.
Just looking at it made us happy!
We knew at once this was the PERFECT pumpkin for us, so we picked it!;)

Nemo the House Guest

The other day my neighbor asked me if I could watch his fish for an extended weekend. I always just assumed that fish were kind of self sufficient for short periods of time. Shows you what I know about fish, anyway I accepted the task because I thought it would be fun for my son.

Say hello to Sky.

My Son decided to rename the fish Nemo so that is what we are calling him. I actually think he prefers Nemo he swims over to me when I call him that. Turns out I am enjoying him as much as my son is.

He even came with orange (my favorite color) rocks in his bowl. I like him, I think I'm getting attached.

What a Peach

This past weekend we attended a summer BBQ at a friends house. Of course, I waited until the last minute to decide what I wanted to bring to the BBQ.
Then, I thought of fruit salad.
After all, it's summer the season of fruit, PERFECT!
So I stopped by Lyman Orchards where right now they have

and

Because I waited until the last minute I didn't pick my own fruit this time.
Once again I went in their store and purchased already picked fruit for my fruit salad.

The highlight of my salad was definitely the peaches,

After all they're orange, the color of happiness.

and they remind me of one of my
favorite childhood stories.
James and the Giant Peach.

I thought this one kinda looked like a heart, or, something....

Peaches are definitely Sawyer's new favorite fruit.
They were also his dad's favorite fruit when he was a child.

He said to me " MOM, these are SOOOOO good!!!"

He ate three in a row for lunch, and he LOVES them.

Summer Fruit Salad

You will need:
Peaches, Cherries, Grapes (I prefer seedless red), and Blueberries.
Wash, cut, chill and serve!

Amber kind of day

Amber is the Color

Today I heard the song "Amber" by 311 three times. Once this morning, once midday, and again this afternoon.
This is one of my favorite songs.

To hear it three times in one day, was inspiring.


On my way home I had the song on my mind and I noticed these amber colored Irises.

So I stopped and took some pictures.

Just makes me want to sing- Whoa, amber is the color of your energy!!!

Orange is the color of happiness.

This week I went to a Mother's Day picnic at Sawyer's school. We got to have lunch together outside, and they had cake. This took place right before nap time so of course he didn't want to eat anything except cake, go figure.

He also gave me a rose.
When we hugged goodbye the rose got caught between us
and the head popped off. So I put it in a cup.
