A Whole New Experience!

This past week, I had the pleasure of joining about 20 photographers at their annual retreat in the Berkshires. I never went to summer camp as a kid, so I was choosing to see this as my first "official summer camp experience!" Also I had never been to the Berkshires before so that was new! ALSO this was the first trip I have taken with a new group of people since I moved here, so that in itself was exciting, and slightly intimidating.

I mean lets face it, trying new things CAN be scary!
Even at a gorgeous lake!

However I find sometimes,
you have to just rise to the occasion.

And force yourself to just
DIVE RIGHT IN!

After all, you never know what you'll find on your path.

Usually it's the path less taken that's full of
all the good stuff.

Right?

lucky for me, I landed myself

with a truly beautiful,

welcoming, creative group of people.

Who made me feel like I fit in just fine.

That helped me to find my center

and reflect

on all the new beautiful things that have
come into my life.
For that you know I have to say
THANKS YOU GUYS!
I truly enjoyed every minute!
Even the scary movie!;)

My Little Shark

We hit a MAJOR MILESTONE
in the world of Sawyer Bean today!
For weeks he has been working to swim like a 'Big Boy' and today, after a lot of practice and much determination, he did it!

HE LEARNED TO SWIM UNDERWATER!!!!
ALONE no floaties or parents!
(well no parents hanging on anyway, his dad was really close.)

For the very first time!
Alone underwater swimming!!!
HE'S TWO!

I am so impressed I told him
" Sawyer, you're my little fish!"

He said to me
" No mom, I'm a shark, not a fish, I'm a shark"
"OH A SHARK!"
I should have known! What was I thinking, fish!?!

Want to see him do it again?

O.K.

Yep, he's a natural!

My little shark.

Amazing!

Sometimes sharks have to take a break.

and after all that swimming, even sharks enjoy a little sun!

It was nice knowing you, Angel fish!

Onward, to Rhode Island

After we left Niantic we decided to go to the beach. We started heading east along the coast and before we knew it we were in Rhode Island.

Hey, the ocean girl enters the ocean state!

Everything we saw looked like it should be on a post card.

Look a lobster!

I took this picture for my son and Red Socks fans everywhere!

Rhode Island is gorgeous.

I love it here! How can you go wrong in the ocean state?
