The Bean goes to Boston

When my son was fifteen months old I took him shopping for a hat to keep the sun out of his eyes.
In the hat isle, there were many different hats. As a mother and a girl, of course I go for the cute hats, like the golfer caps in plaid or the flat caps in black. However this was his first “big kid hat” so I was determined to let him pick it out without too much 'help'.
As we strolled down the line of hats, I would put one on him then he would shake his head and take it off. We repeated this again and again until, we came to the Red Sox cap. I put it on him and he grinned, I took this cap off him and he screamed. I put it back on and he stopped. Off, scream - On, Smile. I did this four or five times just to be was sure this was the hat.
The kid knew, this was his hat and he refused to take it off for two weeks. I thought it was interesting that he selected the Boston hat because we have called him Sawyer Bean since he was three weeks old. Also his very first Jimmy Buffet CD that my dad sent him was live at Fenway Park.

Then less then six months later we unexpectedly moved to New England. Strange don't you think?

Yesterday out of no where my husband says “Lets go to Boston.”
We live in Connecticut.
“BOSTON?” I asked
“Yes, Boston for the Day”
So off we went to Boston. I have to admit, because I am from Colorado it seems strange that we can drive to another state for the day.
My Son was so excited to go to Boston. I found this odd because he is only two and he had the same enthusiasm he usually shows when going to the park. He kept chanting “go to Boston, go to Boston.” It might as well have been Disney Land.

This is a picture of my son's first look at Boston.

This is actually the view over the harbor from Hull, Massachusetts.
